FAQs

How do i work for the zine?

All paid staff and unpaid internship positions are filled during hiring season, which has just closed! Hiring will reopen in April 2025.

Photographers, videographers, creative directors and collaborators are brought on as freelance volunteers; email us pitching yourself and your work, and we’ll get back to you.

See below information about models.

How does modeling/casting work?

There are three different ways that we cast models:

‧₊˚✩彡 Model calls. When we post a model call, you will have the option to fill out an application form for the respective photoshoot, indicating interest. If selected, you will hear back from us and be casted for said shoot. We are no longer setting deadlines for the calls; once we find our models, we’ll close them.

‧₊˚✩彡 Friends and work family. We often cast people that we know and have worked with personally. For this reason, it never hurts to reach out and let us know that you’re interested beforehand. Please message Daphne Bryant, DG Zine’s founder, to get in contact with her and make that connection.

‧₊˚✩彡 Scouting. Our EICs and photographers are always looking to scout models. We usually find these potential models through Instagram and Tik Tok, so if we reach out to you first, it will be to offer you an immediate modeling role.

Before applying to model, keep in mind that like our other freelance positions, modeling is volunteer work. Please also keep in mind that all models must be 18+.
