wired
Written by Daphne Bryant
Me standing off to the side, watching as photographers and videographers come together and make my vision come to life. Pink and magenta paint on Berkeley Beacon newspapers, enthusiastic observers on the red line, a rose blanket adorned with a Paul Anka record, heart-shaped music box, white wired headphones, the playlist coming out of my tiny speaker, the smell of rare books from the third floor of Brattle Book Shop, cool wind on my tongue, chocolate cake from the Cultural Center, the feel of my digi cam in my hands as I snap behind the scenes photos, models of all genders, some friends and some strangers, one of my campus crushes, I am 20, nearly 21. This is my era, the time of my life where I am experimenting with film and the business of creating visual magic. Smiling, posing, kissing, brainstorming. Running out of time to shoot, awkward tension between two of the models. Excited, proud, anxious, hopeful, blown away.
